MANAGER Brief Task
Description
Provide leadership, direction, and hands
on involvement in daily production responsibilities. Plan/execute daily
activities to ensure internal/external customer demands are met. Ensure
that product quality standards are met at all times.
Help drive continuous improvement of
SQDIP in the area of responsibility through the use of lean
manufacturing tools. Support and foster a lean manufacturing culture and
team in concert with the Corporate DBS Leader.
This person reports directly to the Vice
President Operations. A Production Area Manager is accountable for the
following:
- Daily supervision of production
staff.
- Manage projects and set direction
for areas of responsibility.
- Leads teams in meeting SQDIP goals
through the use of lean manufacturing tools.
- Tracks each team’s achievement of
Standard Work and ensure the team records all improvement
opportunities.
- Responsible for creating and
executing data-driven action plans to improve standard Work & SQDIP
performance.
- Works with area planning staff to
evaluate customer orders versus available labor and materials to
develop a weekly and daily build/ship plan and meet on-time delivery
objectives.
- Manage labor availability to
complete work load and work to enhance cross-training for increased
labor flexibility.
- Enlists all employees in the
commitment to excellence by communicating appropriate business
information in a timely manner.
- Ensures all employees are
knowledgeable of, and comply with, all work policies.
- Works with technical staff to pursue
process improvement activities.
- Evaluates employees' performance,
development plans and merit recommendations. Coaches, trains, and
counsels employees to improve performance. Works closely with HR
Department to resolve issues resulting from unacceptable employee
behavior. Top-grades talent as required to ensure a strong team.
- Recommends hiring and terminations,
partnering with HR and the Vice President Operations.
- Direct reports are primarily hourly
employees and may include exempt staff (supervisors or technical
professionals). Total supervisory responsibility up to approximately
50 employees.
- Assists in development and
monitoring of area budget(s).
- Perform additional tasks as
assigned.
Qualification Requirements
The candidate must posses the following
knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Minimum of ten (10) years leadership
experience (project teams, staff supervision, etc.).
- Bachelors Degree in Physical
Science, Engineering, or Business preferred.
- Excellent oral and written
communication skills.
- Ability to effectively interact and
communicate with both Senior Management and employees.
- Data and fact-based problem solving
skills.
- Focus for safety, quality, and
customer satisfaction.
- Scheduling and planning skills
helpful.
- Strong project and time management
skills.
- Solid data analysis and reporting
skills.
- Lean manufacturing experience
(Kaizens, Kanban, root cause counter measures, etc.).
- Basic financial understanding.
- Experience with Inventory
management.

- Physical requirements include: bend,
sit, stand, kneel, crawl, turn/twist, and reach.
- Ability to see and hear well (either
naturally or with correction) and speak clearly.
- Coordinate the movement of your

keyboard use.
- Frequently lift, carry or pull up to
fifteen (15) pounds and/or occasionally lift, push or pull up to
thirty (30) pounds.

MACHINED PARTS INSPECTOR
Hours
6:00 am - 3:00 pm
Brief Task
Description
Highly motivated individual with
mechanical aptitude required to inspect complex machined parts. The successful candidate must be detail
oriented, a self-starter, possesses strong problem-solving and time management skills, and enjoys interfacing
with others. This person reports directly to the Engineering and Materials Manager. A Machined Parts
Inspector is accountable for the following:
- Ability to read and understand
engineering drawings used to inspect machined parts.
- Receive all incoming parts in MRP
software system.
- Inspect parts using various
precision inspection tools i.e. calipers, pin gages…
- Capable of documenting non-conformative
parts reports.
- Communicate parts inspection to
Mechanical Engineers and vendors.
- Stock parts and maintain inventory.
- Create locations for inspected parts
as needed.
- Second processing.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
The candidate must posses the following
knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- 2-4 years experience measuring and
inspecting parts.
- Possess a high level of mechanical
aptitude.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
Suite.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Strong verbal and written
communication skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with
coworkers, vendors, and other office staff.
- Work an eight (8) hour shift and
overtime when required to meet deadlines.
- History of good employment
attendance and punctuality.
