Sea-Bird Scientific Announces New Leadership

Sea-Bird Scientific is pleased to announce the appointment of Pawan Singh to the role of President, effective February 1st, 2021.
Pawan will be responsible for the development and deployment of Sea-Bird Scientific’s global strategy. He will assume leadership of all associates globally, build on the legacy of innovation and deliver on the organization’s financial and operational commitments. Pawan joins Sea-Bird Scientific from Leica Biosystems, where he has worked for the past seven years in a variety of roles and functions, most recently as Vice President, Product Development & Vista Operations Site Leader. Prior to Leica Biosystems, Pawan worked at Sunquest Information Systems and General Electric in various leadership roles in Engineering, Marketing and Product Management. Along with his technical, commercial and operation experience Pawan brings with him a passion for building high performing teams delivering customer focused innovation. He holds MBA in Marketing, Finance & Strategy from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management; MS, Computer Engineering from Syracuse University; and BE, Electronics Engineering from Mumbai University, India.
In the coming months, Pawan will be getting to know all things Sea-Bird Scientific and will work with other leaders in the organization to safely meet many of our customers.
Barry Lyon, Sea-Bird Scientific’s current President, has accepted another role leading one of our sister companies in the emerging antibiotic resistance space. “It has been an incredibly rewarding experience to lead an organization and partner with a broader scientific community dedicated to learning about and protecting our natural waters,” Lyon says of Sea-Bird Scientific. “The importance of the work is global in nature and the passion and dedication demonstrated by you, the scientific community we serve, is humbling. I am hopeful that my new role will bring a similar sense of positive impact on science and the world.”
