At Sea-Bird Scientific, our customers work on the leading-edge of ocean science. Their results break the frontiers of what we know about natural waters and contribute to our understanding of climate change, ecosystem health, and more. This science relies on Sea-Bird Scientific instruments; the data we generate increases understanding and shapes policy. We exist to enable these critically important global research projects and are proud to play a part in accelerating knowledge — and conservation — of our oceans.
Today is World Oceans Day, a day to recognize and acknowledge the importance of the waters we all share. The United Nations has designated this year's World Oceans Day Theme as Revitalisation: Collective Action for the Ocean. During World Oceans Week from June 8 - 15, we are proud to be part of the community that is working to protect and save our oceans for decades to come.
A working partnership
The scientists we serve work around the globe, gathering data from the arctic to the tropics - taking the quality data that comes from our instruments to develop accurate predictions and understandings of how our oceans continue to change. We partner with governmental organizations such as NASA and NOAA, globally recognized institutions such as Scripps Institute of Oceanography, and numerous other oceanic research organizations to design solutions that support the advancement of their programs. The data gleaned from these programs are used to help tell us what's happening beneath the surface of our oceans, and helps define strategy for initiatives such as the UN Ocean Decade.
We are proud to support scientists doing oceanic research around the globe during World Oceans Week 2022.
Stay tuned throughout World Oceans Week from June 8 - 15 for more updates on how Sea-Bird Scientific is enabling the science that matters within the oceanographic community.
